Washington/Tel Aviv, March 5, 2025 – The United States and Israel have dismissed an alternative proposal put forward by Arab nations as a replacement for former U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial Gaza peace plan. The rejection comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with the conflict in Gaza continuing to escalate.
According to diplomatic sources, several Arab nations, including Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, proposed a new framework aimed at addressing the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The alternative plan reportedly focused on a two-state solution, emphasizing Palestinian sovereignty and international guarantees for Israel’s security.
US and Israel Stand Firm
Both Washington and Tel Aviv have rejected the Arab-backed proposal, arguing that Trump’s original peace plan, which was introduced in 2020, remains the most viable solution for long-term stability in the region.
“The United States continues to support Israel’s security and believes that the framework introduced under the Trump administration provides the best path toward peace,” a U.S. State Department spokesperson stated.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also dismissed the alternative plan, arguing that it does not adequately address Israel’s security concerns or recognize its sovereignty over key territories.
“Israel will not accept any proposal that compromises our security or ignores the realities on the ground,” Netanyahu said.
Arab Leaders Push for New Negotiations
Arab leaders have expressed disappointment over the rejection, stating that Trump’s plan, which was widely criticized for favoring Israel, is no longer a feasible solution. The Arab proposal reportedly included a ceasefire agreement, reconstruction efforts for Gaza, and a renewed commitment to negotiations under international mediation.
“The time has come for a fair and comprehensive peace that ensures the rights of the Palestinian people,” a senior Arab diplomat said, urging the international community to reconsider the plan.
International Reactions
The rejection of the Arab proposal has drawn mixed reactions from global powers. The European Union and the United Nations have encouraged further negotiations, emphasizing the need for a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
Analysts warn that with no clear path forward, tensions in the region could escalate further, with both Israeli military operations and Palestinian militant attacks continuing to claim lives.
As diplomatic efforts stall, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with international organizations calling for immediate action to prevent further civilian casualties and economic collapse.
