Beijing, March 5, 2025 – China has escalated its rhetoric against the United States, declaring that it is prepared for “any type of war” as tensions between the two global superpowers continue to rise.
The statement came from a senior Chinese defense official during a press briefing in Beijing, where the country’s military readiness and strategic deterrence capabilities were highlighted. The official emphasized that China will not back down in the face of U.S. pressure, citing Washington’s increasing military presence in the Indo-Pacific region and ongoing disputes over Taiwan and the South China Sea.
“We are fully prepared to defend our national sovereignty, security, and development interests. If provoked, we are ready for any type of war,” the spokesperson stated, without directly specifying a potential trigger for conflict.
Escalating Tensions
The remarks follow a series of military maneuvers by both nations. The U.S. has strengthened its alliances in Asia, conducting joint military drills with Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, while China has responded with its own military exercises, including naval patrols near Taiwan and missile tests in disputed waters.
