Seven passengers shot dead in Balochistan’s Barkhan

Barkhan, Balochistan – In a tragic and shocking incident, seven passengers were shot dead in the Barkhan district of Balochistan, Pakistan. The attack, which took place late last night, has sent shockwaves through the region, raising concerns over security in the province.

According to local authorities, unidentified gunmen ambushed a passenger vehicle traveling on a remote highway in Barkhan. The assailants forcibly stopped the vehicle, dragged the passengers out, and executed them on the spot before fleeing the scene. Security forces and rescue teams arrived shortly after the incident and transported the bodies to a nearby hospital for identification and autopsies.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but authorities suspect the involvement of militant elements operating in the region. Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least populated province, has long been plagued by violence, with separatist insurgents and armed groups frequently targeting civilians, security personnel, and infrastructure.

Balochistan’s Chief Minister strongly condemned the attack, calling it an act of terrorism meant to destabilize the region. He vowed swift action to apprehend those responsible and assured that security forces were already conducting a large-scale search operation to track the culprits.

Human rights activists and political leaders have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan. Many have urged the federal government to take stronger measures to ensure the safety of civilians traveling through remote and vulnerable areas.

As the investigation unfolds, the families of the victims and the people of Barkhan remain in mourning, grappling with yet another act of senseless violence in the troubled province. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.

Further updates on the investigation and government response are expected in the coming days as officials work to bring justice to the victims and their families
